  • What are the 200 Hour Teacher Training course requirements?
Prior to attending our training, we require students to have at least 6 months of consistent yoga practice or similar dedication to a physical practice (dance, fitness, structured movement training such as martial arts). Above all, what’s most important to us is we’d like to welcome students with an open mind who are ready to learn new things and committed to improving their personal practice on and off the yoga mat. There is no need to be able to do handstands or advanced postures in order to join a training.
  • Will I be able to teach yoga in my home country after graduating?
Successful completion of an All Yoga 200 Hour Teacher Training means you will be certified to teach yoga professionally. Our course is accredited by Yoga Alliance, the worldwide standard.
  • What style of yoga will I learn in this 200 Hour Teacher Training? Will I be able to teach Vinyasa Flow?
This 200 hour course is based upon the Ashtanga Primary Series and the Vinyasa Flow styles of asana practice (eg. Rocket Yoga). While the traditional Ashtanga Primary Series provides a strong foundation, you will learn and be inspired by other yoga styles to help develop and sequence Vinyasa Flow classes. In these, the asana practice focuses on breath, dristi (gaze) and bandhas (inner energy locks). By the end of the course, students will be able to confidently teach the Ashtanga Primary Series as well as create custom Vinyasa Flow sequences. To finely balance the Yang practice of Ashtanga, we will incorporate other styles, such as Yin Yoga, to provide students with a broader education and enhance their overall experience with yoga. Thai Yoga massage will also be introduced to teach safe and appropriate hands-on adjustments for different bodies.
  • What is included in the course price? Why do some courses cost more than others?

  • Is there any difference between what is taught in each training location?
All of our 200 hour Yoga Teacher Trainings teach the same course content. The only differences are whether they include accommodation and other amenities.

  • Do we have any days off from training? Will I have time to go sightseeing?
It’ll be 5 days of training, followed by 1 day off (so every 6th day is a day off), and that’s repeated for your entire training. You can go to nearby locations during your day off and there are plenty of activities available on the island, such as diving, snorkelling, surfing, kayaking, etc. For more extensive sightseeing, plan to arrive early before the training begins, or stay longer after completing the program.
  • What do I need to bring?
Yoga mat Towel Comfortable clothing for asana practice & meditation Daily journal Blank notebook Pen / highlighter
  • I have tried yoga and meditation classes before and it wasn’t for me. Is this similar?
There are so many different styles of yoga and meditation out there. I totally understand where you are coming from with these questions because it is something I struggled with in my journey too. I tried numerous different styles of yoga and meditation, but they were not geared towards a therapeutic application and especially for those suffering with chronic pain, disease, or other conditions in their bodies and minds. The yoga therapy practices we will be doing are fine-tuned to ensure the main awareness during practice helps those with these issues. So, yes and no, it might be similar, but very different in the way we approach it.
  • Do I have to be flexible and able to do the bendy shapes I’ve seen out there?
No. You do not need to be flexible and able to put your body in a pretzel shape, or even a downward dog shape. Yoga Therapy is different in its approach. We meet your body where it is at and apply the principles you will learn about so that you can practice in a safe, comfortable and even pleasurable way. Yoga Therapy is about so much more than just stretching.
  • How is Yoga Therapy different from regular yoga?
Yoga Therapy considers many different aspects of your being, addressing deeper layers of stored trauma, thought processes, limiting beliefs, and how you move. It is a hybrid style of yoga practice that crosses modern scientific research with ancient yoga practices. It is accessible to all shapes and sizes.
  • Can you help me if I am recovering from a surgery/injury or if I have been diagnosed with a disease (ie. arthritis, scoliosis, osteoporosis, mental health, fibromyalgia, etc)?
Absolutely! This style of yoga was the only thing that supported me on my own recovery journey. Regardless of where you are in your recovery process, Yoga Therapy offers you gentle tools and techniques that you can use in bed, while you are driving, sitting, standing, etc. As your body strengthens, and you have approval from your doctor to start exercise, then you could apply the practices that include more movement.
  • If I start practicing, do I have to commit to daily practice for the rest of my life?
That is totally up to you. You decide. What we find is once students and clients begin their journey of healing and feeling better, they remap their brain and body to a place of feeling strong, coherent, and resilient. For me, as I healed, I reduced the amount I practiced and instead infused my life with more little habits of support. Pain is a messenger and when it is showing up in the body or mind, your body is asking you for some compassionate attention to it. These are your cues to integrate the tools you learn through our programs, classes, and sessions.
  • If I take your online program, do I do it totally alone?
This is totally up to you, but I am always here for you as you move through the program, via email, and I offer weekly coaching classes where you can meet with me online, via Google Meet to discuss any roadblocks or questions/concerns you may have. There is also a private Facebook group for all program participants to support each other or to simply connect. The beauty of the self-guided online program is that you get to move at your own pace, and this can save you money in the long run, as you won’t miss scheduled classes because of your pain or discomfort. You practice and learn when you feel energized to do so, in the comfort of your own home. This was a huge aspect I needed when recovering and there was not much out there for me to heal from home. That is why I developed this program.
  • If I buy your video packages, or online programs do I get them for life?
Yes! You can download them and keep them for life.
  • Can I take your Yoga Teacher Training(YTT) online?
It is a hybrid program and we offer it either online or in person. There are limited spaces for both - (20 online, 4 in person)
  • What happens after I complete the YTT? Am I certified to teach yoga to anyone?
Once you complete both the in class and practicum hours, you are certified as a 200hr Yoga Teacher who is recognized by the Yoga Alliance R-200 Certification. To get the credentials, you must sign up as a member of Yoga Alliance. You can also simply take the program for your own healing journey and there is no need to apply your teachings as a yoga teacher.
  • Can I take your Yoga Teacher Training(YTT) online?
It is a hybrid program and we offer it either online or in person. There are limited spaces for both - (20 online, 4 in person)
  • Do I need any pre-requisites to take the 200YTT?
No, it is for anyone and everyone who is interested in deepening their understanding of yoga with a therapeutic application and you can start without having done yoga a day in your life. The training offers lifetime tools you can use to address your own healing.
  • How much homework should I expect to do during the YTT?
There are 20 hours total of homework that must be completed outside of our regular class hours. Classes run 2 evenings a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) and every second Saturday, or so. As I say for all my programs and offerings, the more you put into yourself and your practice during this program, while maintaining balance, the more you get out of the program. That’s why we split the class hours up over a period of 5 months, so you can nourish yourself, still work or have a family/home life, and take our training.
  • What if I have to miss some of the training?
You are required to complete all 200 hours of training to qualify for the certification. If you don’t care about being certified, then it doesn’t matter if you miss classes. If you do, you will have to make up the time along the way somewhere to ensure you can graduate on time.
